Dr Claire Alkouatli

Dr. Claire Alkouatli received a PhD in Human Development, Learning, and Culture from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada, with a special focus on social and emotional development and qualitative research methods. She is currently serving as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education, University of South Australia and a Development Consultant for a new interdisciplinary Women’s Studies Master’s program at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia. Her research focuses on the roles of culture, relationships, and pedagogies in human development across the lifespan—particularly imagination, play, dialogue, inquiry, and challenge. Claire currently lives between Vancouver, Beirut, and Riyadh.
